I make no claims to be a portrait photographer – it’s something I enjoy doing but very rarely get to practice.
I prefer the street-style portraits in black and white and I think craggy older faces make for a much more interesting image.
My local camera club (Bingley Camera Club) holds various practical nights during the season which gives me a chance to try my hand at studio photography once in a while.
The studio shots were taken with my Canon 550D and the Canon 50mm F1.8 “nifty fifty”. The accordion busker was taken on the kit 18-55 and the bearded chap (Elmer at his Bottle Tree Ranch in Barstow, California) was taken on the Sigma 18-200 f3.5-6.3
